ABOUT US

CASA Class is the culmination of Cara's 25 years of experience working with children, including 9+ years of homeschool and Prenda microschool guide experience. Cara has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Creative Writing. Our learning environment focuses on community connection as well as mastery-based and student-led learning. Our goal is to help kids be intrinsically motivated to learn and challenge themselves!

This learning club is intended to supplement your child's homeschool educational experience. Families may use ESA funds for tuition, or pay privately. ESA is a scholarship in Arizona which stands for empowerment scholarship account and is available to all students who require or desire an alternative to traditional public school for their education. We are located on the northwest side of Tucson, AZ.

WHO

Academic CASA Classes are recommended for ages 11 through 14, approximately grades 5-9. Occasional exceptions to this are made on a case by case basis. Afternoon "club" style classes are open to ages 6 years and older; kids will be grouped according to age for some activities. Each class is limited to ten learners.

WHAT

Our learning club combines project based, hands-on learning. Each academic class has a portion of both group collaborative learning and individual projects.

WHEN

Classes are offered two days per week. The schedule for the 2024/2025 school year will be Mondays and either Wednesdays or Thursdays (TBD). Sessions are eight weeks long; the first session is August through October. Our academic yearly calendar is similar to local school districts with vacations that typically overlap with Amphi and Marana school districts.

WHERE

This learning club is the natural continuation of the Prenda microschool that Cara ran out of her home from 2020-2024. We meet in her home in NW Tucson.
